I was watching "The Power of Ten" which is on CBS tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm. You should check it out if you haven't. Just tonight I saw an episode. The objective of the show is to take these national polls for questions to find out what number of the population feels a certain way.
One of the questions tonight was, what percent of the general population would agreed that we stay in IRAQ.[1] I was not suprised to see the answer which I will share with you. I just want to give you a chance to think about it. Drew Carey is the host. On the show he clarified that the poll was taken by democrats, republicans, non partican, female, male, young, and old. Basically, he legitimized the accuracy of the poll. I could not wait to hear the answer. The national poll answer was 11%. A very below average percent of Americans honestly feel this war is legitimate.
I want to know your personal feelings about the war?
My personal opinion is President Bush should of never had the amount of power he has held for so many years. I dont understand the validity of a war in another country when we have such a deprived homestate. I think we deserve a change.

"Where do we get these numbers?"
Survey data for Power of 10 questions is
collected and processed by an independent public opinion research firm,
Rasmussen Reports, LLC.
Specific survey questions are determined
by Power of 10 and submitted to Rasmussen Reports. Respondents are
selected on a completely random basis through a process designed to
insure an appropriate geographic distribution throughout the country.
The reported results reflect the overall United States population in
terms of age, race, gender, political party, and other factors."[1]

The war in Iraq was unneccesary. Iit was good to take the dicator, Hussein out of power so that a democratic government could form in Iraq. But the problems between the Shiite's and the Sunni's continue on.The U.S. got involved as it has through out history in affairs that don't really concern them, but would definetly benefit them if changed.
If Bush wanted war, war should have been declared on Saudi Arabia. That is where the hijackers of the september 11 attack were from.
I always wondered what the point of this war was. Thanks for the insight. In your comment you just pointed out some of the key elements that bother me about the war. Is Osama is still sending videos like he is a pop star. Then the news sensationalizes these things to make it worse.

The point of war is to fight the evil forces that want you dead or in oppression.
American Revolution was to throw off the tyrannical England.
Civil war (despite what slanted history books say) was also over tyrannical taxation . . (Northerners already owned slaves and, in fact, slavery wasn't an issue until LONG after the war had already started. 4 of the states left the union after it was announced that the army was going to take back the states that had already left.)
WWI was to stop a tyrannical spread.
WWII. . . Hitler. 'nuff said.
Persian Gulf war I, to stop Saddam from taking Kuwait, who was our friend.
Vietnam and Korea were conflicts in the larger war against Communist Russia, who wanted ot spread the oppressive communism around the world.
Even the current war on terror, of which Iraq is one piece, is to fight the terrorists who would see you and I dead for being who we are. They declared war on us LONG ago, we just didn't accept it until after the September 11th attacks. (Multiple embassy bombings, attack on the USS Cole, and other killings/kidnappings/bombings were all a part of a war declared on the west by this radical group of people.)
These are more facts. Cool and mixed with some opinions

Keep in mind that the general community in the area the show is shot is who is polled.
I don't remember if it is a new york city show or an LA show, but either way, you are going to find VASTLY liberal people there.
While 'conservatives, liberals, men and women" are all polled, it doesn't mean that the poll was balanced in any way. It is a trick that pollsters have been using for generations.
When you want a poll to say X, you call certain area codes, when you want it to say Y, you call other area codes. It is how things are.
Also note, that if someone didn't agree with the War in Iraq, it may not be that they prefer we weren't there, but may be upset that we're not being hard enough in the war, letting too many terrorists live or not pressing through the streets killing enough terrorists and jailing enough supporters.
Don't assume that because a poll says X, that it means what you THINK it means by X.
I agree
