Getting Past Ourselves

I've noticed lately that many people in America are very selfish people whether they or others realize it or not. many people don't give enough and take too often and when doing things for others want to know what they will get out of it. I'm not saying that all people are like this just that some people are. I think we need to take notice of how this has come into our society and how we can correct it.

More people need to volunteer for good causes not because they will get something out of it but because they are doing a good thing by helping other people who need it. If everyone thought more of others than themselves a lot of the world problems would be solved. There would be no more war, no more world hunger, no more homeless people, and a lot more happiness.

Getting out and helping other people is a great thing to do for you community, your state, your country, and the world as a whole. If everyone had this mind set the world would be a much better place to live in and a much more peaceful place to live in. So lets get out there and help those people that really need it. Do you care enough to help?

I think that I'm an open and giving person...but at the same time I know that I'm also a very selfish person...and I'm not afraid to admit it...but I think that as long as there is some balance there it's not too big of an issue b/c sometimes we have to think about ourselves

I agree with you but I do see a lot of people out there who only help others to getting something out of it for themselves and that bothers me a lot.
