A Dangerous Tradition

Today was my last day of high school. I got out at 10:30 this morning. However, more important than the tradition of getting out early, or of signing senior books was another tradition...one much more dangerous...the senior pranks.
Our school is pretty notorious in the area for our senior pranks:
2 years ago they zip-tied all the doors and lockers shut and stole all the flags (3 of the smartest kids that are also the best athletes got suspended and couldn't walk at graduation)
Last year they saran-wrapped the teacher's cars shut (they only got about 5 done before they got caught but still it took forever to get them undone), and they drew a 10 foot long purple penis on the library windows (they had to wash all the windows)
And then this year...the best, but also most dangerous:
Let's start with the day all the seniors parked in the faculty lot...not too dangerous
Then the day everyone slept on the football field...again not too dangerous but some people did get sick
Then there was today when we got to school and found worms in the vending machines, a lot of food was ruined and some people didn't realize it and got a handful of squirmy friends
When school got out we were met with hallways full of silly string (they got it on the lights and it started sparking and stuff) then they unleashed the water balloons full of windex and shaving cream many of which hit the administrators...it was pretty dangerous it ruined a lot of clothes and some people got it in their eyes and it was pretty bad. You couldn't really walk through the halls b/c they were so slick and people were falling all over the place. Finally, they unleashed the crickets, literally they let thousands of crickets loose in the halls and it caused mass chaos. People were running into each other and a few kids got really hurt.
While these pranks were seemingly harmless they ended up hurting a lot of people. Despite this the dangerous tradition continues on. Why do we keep doing this when we know people are getting hurt? Do we not care at all, or is the thrill more important?
