I would really like to know why Mike Huckabee is still trying a candidate for the republic presidential nomination. If it is not bad enough that he believes that the world was created 6000 years ago, he digs his hole further by claiming that his viewpoint on the subject should have no bearing on his candidacy. First and foremost, Huckabee needs to understand that regardless of your religion, to claim that the world was created 6000 years ago suggests that the gas one put in one’s car appeared out of thin air; it implies that the fossil remains of dinosaurs, or any prehistoric life for that matter, is an illusion; it implies that the DNA that links us to various other species means nothing. To say this holds great bearing as to whether or not one is capable of thinking scientifically or logically, and that my friends, is a quality that I believe our president should have this day in age. On top of this, Huckabee is drastically losing the race for the republican party nomination (cited from www.realclearpolitics.com), having only 240 delegate votes to McCain’s 825. With this being said, I firmly believe that he should do us all a favor and cut his losses now.

Europeans already think that we're retarded because the majority of our population doesn't believe the theory of evolution is true. Having a president that believes in young-earth creationism is even worse.

Bother me as well. I am not sure when he thinks the eath came into existence, but his belief in Creationism bothers me. I can understand that he believes that his religion compels him to take the position, but the evidence just isn't there to support him on it.
More disturbing -- for me at least -- were his comments about amending the constitution in order to bring it "in line with the living God", because they demonstrate a profound lack of willingness to understand that the raison d'etre of the United States is religious freedom and freedom of conscience.
Romney announced yesterday that he was thinking about giving his delegates to McCain anyway, which was Huckabee's last hope.
He hasn't dropped out because he does have a very large Christian base that would be disappointed with if he did. This could be a long shot, but Huckabee might just be trying to get the VP, by impressing John McCain.

I don't believe that he doesn't want to be VP. I think he is definately looking for something, and it is not becoming the next president because I think that even he realizes that isn't going to happen. Anyone wonder who was involved in that story to the NY Times about McCain?..................................... I wonder about this man.
