I am so vain... I probably think your comment is about me. I am so vain... I love altering the words of lryics (even Carly Simon). I am such an independent person to worry about such pity matters, but I am also part emotional girl and I just can't help it. Talking on the internet is pretty pointless sometimes. Actually, I will take that a step forward and say even reading on the internet is pretty pointless sometimes. You aren't able to read facial expressions or tone. Therefore, I take everything so literally and direct that I misinterrupt a lot of messages. A good example to tie back into the first line... I think everything is about me. Even when it is clearly not. I am sure a lot of people have problems with this talking on the internet idea. It is a pretty simple one. I guess it even extends to text messages as well. Any written form that lacks personality. I just came up with an incredible new concept to show emotion online- through colored words. We all know that cool colors represent more serious, sad, difficult subjects and warmer colors represent happiness, fun, and loving subjects. It would be a very universal way to better communicate and lack misunderstandings. But, when really thinking about it, this wouldn't help. Because in internet or text conversations we usually use "lol" or "haha" to show we are kidding or even just "jk." I guess these are hints of a joking matter or of belittling a topic. But, to fix the problem of always thinking the general comments are aimed at me, we should just be more direct and honest. We are pretty much already being mean by saying the phrase in a general way to be ambiguous, therefore you might as well say it in a very direct, open, and honest way.
