"When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic."--iforgetbutyoucanlookitup
I absolutely love this quote. The irony of it now amuses me so. "web of lies," hah. The internet. The truth is just so interesting to me. I love to look for it, find it, and question it.
Everyday, I go through the monotonous duty of either work of school. As a 'kid' I feel lied to all of the time and rightfully so. The amount of times that adults try and bullshit me is so great that I just had to post something about it. An example!!
There I was, playing my guitar and looking out the window making faces at passerby when suddenly, I got the urge to eat a plain tomato whole. The absence of ripe tomatoes in my house and my grumbling stomach provoked me to grab my durty boots and walk to the store [yeah, I can drive and have a car.] There I bought a bag of those cute little commie-red tomatoes and proceeded to the checkout. my change was $15.89 BUT the cashier only gave me $10 and a few pennies. Now, I am not a dumbass and I do count my change so I politely asked for the right amount of change and she counted it out, gave it to me, and said "I though I counted wrong but didn't think you'd notice." WOW. I had every right to report her, however, it was cold out and I wanted to get home. Oh well, so I let a kid who slipped through the system go. I felt like not being a prick today, surprise!
Good story huh? If you want to hear one about a biased AP English teacher who was a 'C' average student at a shitty university then read about my research paper a few blogs down. Long story short, my persuasive paper on controversy was too controversial. Love it.
Peace.
