Everyone keeps saying that we need to recycle things. Especially paper, glass, aluminum, and plastic. Weuse these materials alot, and yet no one seems to recycle. Some do, but not all. One thing that does not get recycled much are those plastic grocery bags. They are thin and flimsy, and mostly overlooked on the "recycl-o-meter". However, they are very useful little bags. One way to re-use them is to use them as trash bags. You are throwing them away anyway, why waste another plastic bag? I as a college student save all of my bags to be used for various purposes. Carrying sll my art supplies to class when my book bag is full of books has been a common one.
One use that people might not have thought of is this: make a bag, from plastic bags. Technically, I did not think of it either, it came from a crochet book ( you know, that stuff usually old ladies make with yarn?) You cut the bag into strips, tie them together to make "yarn", and then you can crochet it into a purse, or anything else you'd like. Just remeber that plastic doesn't make good clothing. My friend and I made a purse out of Wal-Mart bags. I finally had a use for all the plastic bags in my room. We used pre-made purse handles for the bag, which the book called for, but we plan to experiement with crocheted plastic bag handles to have a totally recycled bag. It looks pretty neat, and is so far pretty sturdy. But, if the bag does wear out, go by your local wal-mart and ask for some more bags. Our walmart has a recycle box for their bags ( look at people recycling!!!), but you can always just ask for people to save their bags and not make more waste!

GO ME----Plant A TREE !!!!!
It's true!! Recycling is so easy, yet is it so overlooked. People should definately start recycling more, it truly would make a big difference. I think one of the problems is that a lot of recycling bins aren't made very prominent. For example, at my school there was always a recycling bin located right next to the trash can, yet people still continued to throw their items in the trash when it reality they could be recycled. My school currently painted the recycling bins with bright colors and designed them with stars, etc. so they stand out when people go to throw out their trash. It really has made quite a difference very quickly. I hope people that read this try that at their school! Also, some cities just don't cooperate with recycling. It is sad really because I work in an office and we use up sooooooo much paper, yet we can't recycle any of it because the city won't collect it.
