What would Jesus Do on the Internet? His teaching on funeral cost is here.
Jesus Christ is the Low Cost Funeral Advocate on Funeral Cost.
If you plan in advance for a lower cost funeral you can save money on your funeral and have more money available for this life. That will give you personal freedom and add to your broad prosperity. If you choose to pass on your extra funds you will contribute to the better future of those who come after you.
In talking to people around the world about the lower cost funeral I have found that most people want the lowest cost funeral possible or a no cost funeral.
The number one advocate of the Low Cost…No Cost Funeral is Jesus Christ.
The problem is that often the words Jesus Christ, Funeral, and cost all mean freedom and oppression to different people. If you want to learn about more about Jesus and his connection to the lower cost funeral read on. A word of warning …. I will be quoting the Bible and referencing his Jewish Low cost funeral.
Luke 9 from the Bible and the Public Domain:
59He said to another man, "Follow me."
But the man replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
60Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God. (NIV VERSION, International Bible Society)
Let the dead bury the dead does not put a focus on funerals or giving funerals a lot of attention or money.
Jesus was buried in a nearby tomb (it did not cost Jesus) Yes, maybe Joseph or Nicodemus paid for it. At any rate…It was a low cost funeral for him (Jesus Christ)
These are the lessons of the low cost funeral that happened in the case of Jesus Christ:.
1)Get permission to be the funeral director& handle the body and participate in the burial.
(Joseph of Arimethea got permission from Pontius Pilate)
2) Make it an inexpensive burial
(Joseph of Arimethea arranged for burial in a nearby grave)
3) Have friends in your community act as the funeral director:
(Prepare the body as Joseph of Arimethea, and Nicodemus did.)
4) Have friends in the community provide the tomb and participate in the burial
(Joseph of Arimethea buried the body in a nearby tomb)
John 19: From the Bible and the Public Domain:
38Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jews. With Pilate's permission, he came and took the body away. 39He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds. 40Taking Jesus' body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. 41At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. 42Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.( NIV Version, International Bible Society)
It is a well known fact that in his ministry he raised many from the dead, putting the focus on life, not death and funerals.
And again we learn four lower cost funerals tips from the burial of Jesus Christ.:
1) Ask for access to the body and act as the funeral director
2) Plan for or have an Inexpensive burial
3) Participate in the preparation of the body.
4) Participate in the burial
Muslim and Jewish friends do these lower cost funeral steps everyday.
It is my wish that “Christians” will move closer to their faith and participate in these lower cost funerals.
If this happens: Muslim, Jewish and Christian people will have more unity.
If this happens: All of us will have a better world and a better future through the lower cost funeral.
We may even come closer to saving the planet.(jesus had a Green funeral, Green Funerals Save the Planet).
Jesus Christ provides the best funeral examples.
