My question is ...Do social networking sites such as myspace and facebook interfere with your grades?
How many hours do you spend updating your pictures or personal on myspace?
Do you browse for hours on end thru comments and surveys of friends and family?
How often do you login to myspace?
Many many students around the country and world now spend so much time on social networking sites they forget about more important things such as homework and extracurricular activities.
Its my opinion that people spend way too much time on the internet, including social networking web sites. Students in particular need to quit wasting so much time online, and hit the books.
What do you think?

I think the students and their laziness should be in question. not online networking.
Depends on the kid. It dosnt interfere with my grades directly but it dose affect my time management sometimes. I mean write the boring paper for english or check out all my good friends on myspace.

Yes, they interfere with your grades. When I was a Myspace addict, I would spend hours on the site, accomplishing nothing. When I quit, I suddenly had all of this free time, and the change was evident in my grades.

I don't care that students do this. It's their life. The world is full of distractions, and nobody will be there to remind you how to spend your time. I think it's kinda good that students can see the results of losing focus before the lesson causes serious negative consequences and ruins their life. A few bad grades in high school or college won't hurt anyone.

I think it has more to do with the person than the site. I hardly check my myspace though I have one. Even the time period I checked it "often," it was never more than once a day and I didn't change my profile. It was usually replying to messages from long distance friends.
My fiance's ex used to have my page bookmarked though and take notes on what I would do. I can only imagine how it affected her time.
