Words have an insane amount of power. Sometimes without even knowing it we use this power for evil. Sounds crazy, I know, but have you ever thought how hurtful words can be. We sometimes forget that a slight change in inflection, while we're speaking or a slight change in how we respond can completly change how someone is feeling at the end of a conversation. Words have the power to uplift someone's spirit's or to crush them, they can help someone or they can hinder them. It all depends on the choices that we make. Should we say something to help them or nothing at all? Thinking about what we're saying is what it all comes down to. When we hear someone saying "That's Gay" or using a degratory do we say that is hurtful to people or do keep on with our everyday lives because it is not affecting us right now. Everyone will have to decide what is right for them, but now that I fully understand the power of words I don't want to knowingly hurt someone.

I know you have heard the statement "the tongue is mightier than the sword". Your mouth is more harmful than any other weapon. That's why I truly believe in "some things are best left unsaid". It is good that you are aware of this and have a conscience about it. Some people say things to purposely hurt someone because they know that there is no other way to get to the person. I try to think before I speak. Some situations are difficult to do that but I try.

I agree with you 100%. I don't remember random fights and things, but things that peoplep have said which really hurt my feelings I can remember very clearly.
