At South Mountain High School, we are stereotyped as being a bad school because in the past there was a riot between mexicans and blacks. Yes, this happened, but let me stress to everyone that we have become one school and are trying to reach the top by coming together. We try to make history through teamwork and our statistics are showing it.
The track team won state for three years in a row and the decatholon team won first place in regionals. As for the girls cross country team, I was honored to be apart of it all because we made regionals for the first time in our school's history this year. Besides our achievement, the boys football team won regionals and the girls volleyball team won regionals as well.
I would like to commend a girl who was even brave enough to make the football team as well. This is a time for change, a time for history to be created and beautified. Everyone is trying to make a difference, just take a look at the politicians and the candidates for president. We may have presidents that will make history! It never makes sense to me why theres problems between 2 minority groups. Especially when we have to face the same problems in certain aspects.
