Roger Clemens Hearing Yesterday Left me Wondering

I am an avid sports fan. I am a huge Basketball, Football, Baseball,Boxing,Mixed Martial Arts and the up incoming Lacrosse. The last few years watching ESPN way to much of the highlights are taking place in courtrooms or in front of congress. It started a few years ago when baseball players were in front of the House of Reform Committee. They started this after Jose Conseco named possible steroid users in his book. He was brought to congress with all the people he accused. Then yesterday Roger Clemens was in front of Congress too. He was accused by his former trainer Brian Mcnamee. Also senator Arlen Spector question Roger Goodell about how he handled the Patriots cheating situation. Also Olympic sprinter Marion Jones has been convicted of perjury and baseball all time home run king Barry bonds has been indited on the same offense. They were both accused of lying about their use of steroids. My response to all this very simple. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! WHAT KIND OF BACKWARDS FOOLISHNESS IS GOING ON?! Sorry for that outburst but that is just how I feel (I wasn't sure whether to put an exclamation point or a question mark so I did both). Aren't there more pressing issues then whether or not athletes are taking steroids. All these new congressman elected and this is all they can come up with. On the Patriots cheating scandal I have one question. Could you please explain what law they are breaking? It is not right that they cheated but that is an issue the NFL should police itself. Our tax money should not be wasted on this. Back to the steroids scandal if Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Marion Jones lied about doing steroids that's wrong but don't put them on Congress or Grand Jury to see if they are lying. What they did cheated their sport but that is no reason to put them in jail. You are going to house then in jail for this shit come on. There is also a bigger issue why are steroids illegal in this country. It makes sense for them to be illegal in their sports because they have a competitive edge. But why is it illegal by law. The government should not be allowed to tell you what to put in your body. None of the drugs should be illegal. The people who say they want small government with the government out of your money out of your way wants to tell you what you can put in your body, who you can marry, if you are going to have a kid, if you want to pay for sex , if you could gamble. So you are telling me they won't take your money or help you when you are or you are sick and you can't afford treatment. But they can control all aspects of your life . Am I missing something.
