My question is who cares?
The other day a friend told me that 50 cent was endorsing Hilary. Cool? I guess. Surely I’m not going to CHANGE my opinion just because 50 supports someone. I mean yea it my gather uneducated voters who decide that just because 50 says so. I mean seriously though. The type of person who would honestly be swayed by that, do we really want them even voting?
I mean since I’m young, I would automatically be included in that broad, generalized group, but maybe it is better.
Other endorsements that puzzle me though, Scarlett Johansson, yes I do love her but, I don’t really care that you’re engaged to Obama. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22848518/
Also when Mike Huckabee announced his nomination. Chuck Norris? SERIOUSLY? I know from personal experience, that people were honestly swayed by that. That’s so ridiculous. Forgive me for my absolute dislike of Chuck Norris. The man just bugs the living day lights out of me.
Some endorsements do matter, for example Oprah, with all her power. Obama must have truly benefited from that.
This brings up a conversation I once had with a friend that we, teenagers, idolize all the wrong people. Whenever I see this person I know holler “OOprah” in the specific 50 cent voice.
Celebrity Endorsements really bug me. I mean what makes them so special really? Most of them aren't any more intelligent than the average voters. And it especially annoys me to think how there are people actually influenced by celebrities' opinions. I really wish they would just keep their opinions to themselves.
I'm just hoping that people can make up their own mind. I hope that the process for making the final decision to whom a ballot will be cast for is solely made based on who will be fighting for the things I believe in.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with someone voicing their opinion, celebrity or otherwise. As far as the affect endorsments have, I really don't know who, if anyone, sways opinions or by how much, but they are effective in that they get people talking about the candidate.
