Showing Up For Your Flight a Million Hours Before

I understand completely that the American government has to protect the country. And I want them to do that. I thank them for it! It just is starting to bug me that now when I fly on a plane that leaves at 2:30, I have to leave my house well before 12:30.
Some people think that flying is so much quicker and easier then driving, when sometimes it really isn’t. Think about all the time and effort it takes to get ready for the flight. You have to take everything prohibited items from your bags and/or purses. And if you have any kinds of liquid these days you have to put those in special baggy (not to mention which wastes so much plastic). I also don’t understand the little baggy because if it really was incriminating the person could just take it out of the bag and use it. I understand that it’s for the security officers to see what liquids we are taking in… but still.
Not to mention the almost hour long security lines that you have to go through before you even get to the gate. And when the finished waiting all that time that you wasted, you practically have to undress and walk through to poles. It just seems to be a little ridiculous and I’m hoping there can be a new strategy for security.

Yeah, flying is much quicker than driving. I'd much rather spend 6 hours dealing with airports and planes than two days driving across the country, having to stop to rest and fill up with gas and all that.

And most airports I go through are pretty efficient now, as long as your fellow passengers know what they're doing. At RDU, it takes maybe 15 minutes to get through security... takes me so much longer to get to the airport from my dad's house. In Colorado Springs... half hour, and no commute to the terminal, cause the terminal is right on the other side of security. Denver... probably a half hour. And if you do everything correctly when you pack in the first place, it shouldn't take you any additional time.

I thought it was getting much shorter. Usually takes me about ten minutes to get through to my gate.
