When I watch TV, I look for some good reality shows to watch. I love watching people pushing themselves to the limit and doing whatever it takes to reach their goal. I love watching people carrying trophies over their heads in tears. I love hollering at the TV and biting my lips in frustration. American Gladiators is the show that I have been waiting for all my life. It has everything a reality show should have and is one of the entertaining shows on TV today. The show puts amateur athletes to the test and gives them the chance to win $100,000 by competing against each other and with professional “gladiators”.
The show was originally aired in 1989 and died off in 1996. The show has been on ESPN Classics and has received a lot of interest. It is now back with a new gang of gladiators and events. The host of the show are Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali. These two athletic superstars make the show very exciting and amusing. The new gladiators are Hellga, Crush, Militia, Venom, Stealth, Titan, Fury, Toa, Justice, Siren, Mayhem, and Wolf. These gladiators are huge body builders who try to prevent the contestants from winning. The most entertaining gladiator is Wolf. He is one of the strongest looking gladiators who has the most personality and has prior experience of wrestling professionally. He also howls like a wolf at the contestants and crowd. Another entertaining gladiator is Helga. Helga is a 6’1”, 203 lbs body builder who has a 1,625-lb. leg press. She has uncanny power and comes 100% at the contestants. What makes the show so great is that it is not “fluff and puff”. The gladiators are brutal and come at the contestants hard, with no mercy. There are dangerous challenges on the show that are very difficult. Already a gladiator and a contestant have been injured. The events are Assault, Gauntlet, Hang tough, Powerball, Pyramid, Joust, The Wall, and the Eliminator. These events test the athletes agility and strength.
The amateur athletes on the show are average people that are playing for a grand prize of $100,000, a 2008 Toyota Sequoia, and the right to become a Gladiator for the second season. The show has become so popular that they have began making a second season of the show. About 12 million people viewed the premier on January 6th. The show is shown on Mondays every week at 8:00 ET/PT on NBC.
If you are interested in watching an entertaining show where average six-pack Joes get beaten by huge body builders this is the show to watch. It is filled with gripping action, big explosions and people dressed in tight spandex. It is the best reality show out and I highly recommend it to everyone.

these people seem like they have no energy, they died out after so little. thats what was so funny. and how in the eliminator. how they couldn't get up the tread mill was funnier.
