Chronicles of a Broke College Student: Part 1.
Part 1: The Starving Artist.

I am a broke starving artist. Well, I am going to claim myself as one. Sure, most college students have to worry about text books, rent, food, and how to snag the occasional boy toy (alright that’s my worry). Now try adding in art supplies. I’m not talking about scissors, glue, and 24 packs of Crayola crayons. Believe me, I’ll color with Crayola before laying a hand on some fancy pansy Prisma. My supply list includes a 2X4 ¼” plywood, expensive Gamblin oil paints, foam, wood glue, metal wire, paper, clay, canvas…get the picture? Now add in the price of the art supplies with the list of things in your current budget.

Not good, right?

That’s how I feel.

So where is this going, you ask? You see, I browse through the collection of blogs on Progressive U. I ask myself, how can I make mine different, unique, and relatable to young people. So I decided to blog about being broke. I talk about being broke. Why not blog about it? Creative, who knows. Unique, maybe not. But I’m part of the American Dream: Being broke and in debt while in College! Now it’s my turn to tell my story.
