A while ago (maybe a couple of years), I decided I want to work at Pixar. I love their movies (Finding Nemo REALLY sealed the deal) and the general energy of the entire company (at least, what I've seen in the behind-the-scenes features) and the level of innovation displayed by their continuous bellwether status in the industry, etc. I've always been interested in art, and I'm a computer nerd, so animation as a career fits me perfectly. So, I want to work at Pixar.
Well, Pixar's main competition is Dreamworks. Right now, the two companies each have their own box-office hit out- Wall-E for Pixar and Kung Fu Panda for Dreamworks. I was in the theater today, deciding which to see, and I must admit, I thought Kung Fu would be better. So I saw it. And it was slightly amazing. As I walked out of the theater, I felt like I had contributed to the enemy. How could I have possibly chosen Dreamworks over Pixar? I felt like Ed Catmull himself would jump out from around a corner and ban me from ever working for the company of my dreams.
So am I insane? Maybe. But I guess the dirty feeling I get after watching Dreamworks movies just proves my dedication to my future place of employment.
Side note: Just an observation- more people came out of the Wall-E showing than were in the Kung Fu Panda showing. Just so you know. (GO PIXAR!)

A friend of mine works for Dreamworks as an animator. He says it's a lot of fun.
But, if I had the decision to make, I think Pixar's movies just look like they'd be a lot more fun to work on. And they have such neat design work and stuff in the opening and closing credits! :-)

Depends who you want your audience to be.
Dreamworks is geared toward older children and adults-- just look at Shrek, Madagascar, SharkTale, Flushed Away and Kung Fu Panda. Dirty, dirty jokes!! hehe
Pixar is cute, funny animation. Nemo, Wally, Cars, Ratatouille, Incredibles... all amazingly adorable movies that you can take a tiny kid OR an adult to.
I prefer Pixar, because I love the goofy adorably hilarity. [I do like Shrek, but not LOVE it... and I adore Madagascar, but other than Madagascar, I wasn't really a fan of the other DW films

Dreamworks does have some good movies (I loved the Shrek series), but Pixar's are consistently amazing for children and adults. And I'm not entirely sure I can explain it, but I like Pixar animation better.
Really, I don't blame you for wanting to work there instead of Dreamworks
