>> okay. so they give me 5 different colored shirts that are allowed. one for each day of the week. it cant be that bad right? XP i just dont like the idea of looking like everyone else in the school and not being able to wear something that I PICKED OUT. what really gets me mad is the whole "2-3 buttons". The polos ive been looking at have 5 buttons. GAH. SO SPECIFIC. AND THE PANTS. WTH?
sigh. i know i know. i should be glad its not SEVERE SEVERE. im just NOT happy with this. its understandable.

I get a true giggle out of the fact that they have went so far as to mandate sock appearance. That is just taking it to a whole new level lol.
I'd just pile it all on and do it oddly. One yellow sock, one burgundy sock. A pair of navy pants under a khaki skirt with a god awful sweater *under* a polo shirt. Complete with a leather belt wrapped around my waist for good measure.

Why wrap the belt around your waist? Get creative (and really inappropriate), pull up your sleeve and wrap it around your forearm. Perhaps draw some track marks for good measure.

Mm, I have one better. Instead of my original idea of a fun arts an crafts project involving lots of cutting and hemming with the shirts (you could probably do some interesting things with the polos as long as you leave those buttons alone. Actually, you could probably make it ridiculously sexy. ANYWAY!!!
Perhaps you could organize a giant protest where everyone wears their polos to school and you all go into the hallway and help each other cut the collars off of your polos with scissors. Are you allowed to have scissors in school?
Not only would it be a fun protest, but it would probably help to unify the school beyond the cliques that tend to be so prevalent in high school.

loving this. XD
"To be great is to be misunderstood..." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
holy hell, that sounds restrictive. i'm pretty sure i would shoot myself in the face rather than deal with that. especially because i'm very color-oriented and i don't know if your school knows this but "hunter green" and "burgundy" aren't exactly trendy anymore. =P oh yeah, and i hate turtlenecks...they make me feel like someone's choking me.
anyway. a friend of mine that went to a school with a restrictive dress code always just played up the accessories as far as she possibly could, so even though she was forced to wear the same stuff as everyone else she always stood out.
or you could definitely do what some of these other people have suggested. i'm a big fan of the "draw track marks on your arm" idea. hehehe.

Ideas:
1. wear all your clothes inside out
2. wear mix matched clothes
3. wear flipflops with socks
4. wear a red tie on your head
5. wear green shirt, navy pants, yellow socks
6. wear a shirt that has a drawing or piece of art and defend the fact it is not a logo becasue no campany is using it
that all i can think of...in the words of JFK

Im out!
You bring up something I didn't think about earlier...
Why have the regulated (mandated?) sock usage but not shoes?!

People wear flip flops with socks already. They're just weird, not rebellious.

A pet peeve of mine....I cant stand when people have socks and flip flops....especially if the socks dont match. I do not see the point in doing that. OOOOOOHHHHHH...its okay to speak out and be different but an everyday thing is GRRRRRRR!
Conformity is the jailor of freedom and the enemy of growth!~JFK
flip flops and toe socks are an unusual combination. I went to HS with a girl that wore them everyday during the warmer months.
I get yelled at for wearing socks with crocs when I work. Apparently it's a major taboo and I didn't get the memo.

I do home health and they're more comfortable than tennis shoes and a lot easier to deal with when I soak them giving a bath. Outside of work I don't wear them much. I have to switch it up to keep hubby from complaining about the amount of shoes I own. Why is it that men (not all but quite a few) think you only need one pair of shoes?

It's far less expensive that way. Plus, because of the evil empire of masculine oppression, men have far less of a shoe selection than women do.

Well, screw the evil empire. Shoes rock. And a lot of shoes rock even more.

I guess I don't see why a dress code is so big of a problem. I had to wear a uniform in elementary school and they are giving you FAR more choices than I had. Just play it up with accessories. Or, here's an idea, how about you let your personality and manner of acting showcase who you are rather than asking cloth and buttons to do it for you?
I love these guys, but oh god don't take them too seriously please! (xoxo to you guys but serious...tire tracks?) The fashion police will beat down your door and those are expensive to replace.
Anyways, definately play up the accessories. If you have your ears pierced you have the ultimate fashion opportunity. I don't know your personal style, but I love wearing the huge fashion earrings in funky shapes and complimentary colors. I have a pair of red "bikini"/underwear earrings that a friend got me for christmas that I can't wait to wear.
If you really want to make a statement do the mis-match thing, but I think you'll get more stares than kudos. They said under the belts "braided"...they did not specify the shade of brown. Leather, in a rough hide form, can be found in long strips that can be braided, tied, and hang partially down black pants. You can find stuff like this in many fashion stores. Think Maurices and other junior specialty stores. They are not very expensive and they make a statement.
Stand out by the bag you carry. I saw nothing on your purse style. I carry a cloth tote that I found at Spencers that has been voted a favorite on my campus. You can spend all that money saved by uniforms on having a variety of specialty bags and keychains for your keys and book covers.
Oh, and hair accessories. Headbands and silky bandannas are in and putting your hair up in interesting buns and flips and beach dos are a great way to be yourself in restrictive circumstances.
Good luck. I know I could never survive without jeans... I could go on forever in this subject, so if you ever need advice or more ideas just send me a note. Also, let me know what works. I'm curious.
Think about it...

I went to a catholic high school. And as shocking as it may sound, you're getting way more options than we had.
We had to wear navy blue tights under our navy blue skirts, even in the summer!
No shorts, period! no tennis shoes, no heels, no sandals!
White, black, or these ugly light brown/vomit colored polos were or only option, and they had to have the school logo embroidered on them.
Boys must always wear belts.
Girls could wear pants, but they were horrible pants, so I never saw a single girl with pants on. We had one sweatshirt option that was grey and had the school logo embroidered on it.
If you wore an undershirt (the polos are see-through so if you don't then they get pissed) it must be white and may not have writing on it that is visible
NO JEWELRY
"normal hair colors"
boys hair must never be longer than the collar
light makeup only
My ideas for you:
obnoxiously bright stilleto heels!
matching purse
get your skirt hemmed up or roll it if that's too expensive
tons of jewelry
dye your hair daily, to match your shoes, jewelry, and purse
knee-high socks! anything else with the uniform skirt looks ridiculous
crazy eyeshadows and other makeup
