Teens and Acceptance

We all have those people in our lives that just want to be accepted or it might just even be us. We have all of these nice things and we still feel like our friends and fellow peers still don't want to accept us as we are and then we think that we need more. We all someday want to have someone follow in our footsteps but how is that going to be possible if we can't accept ourselves for who we are. There are people in this world who love you dearly and you need to surround yourself with these type of people!! We don't owe anyone in this world anything but ourselves. And we all need to get that through our heads. Some people just want attention and they will do anything for it, thats when you must make a change for yourself. No one is going to accept you if you can't except yourself for who you are. No one can tell you what you can and cannot do. That's where self acceptance comes in and it tends to play a very serious role in teens lives espically. We all need to have positive people in our lives that can help us overcome obstacles that we have to overcome. We can't let what we see on television, see on magazine's front covers or what people say get in the way of how we view ourselves! We are the only ones who have to wake up to our faces every morning and we are the only ones who lay down to sleep with that same face. Everyone is not going to like you and there isn't anything that you can do about it but accept it. Don't try to get the person to like you by letting them talk to you anyway that they like, treating you badly, or hurting your feelings. If you don't stand for anything then you won't stand for nothing!! If you accept yourself then other people will accept you as well and treat you with the upmost respect!!
