I was listening to my beloved Yellow Submariene soundtrack today on my way to work and got to thinking as I listened to these songs; "what a wonderful message this album and movie is for today's society." Seriously, we need things like this in our crazy, war-ridden world. We're dying for it. Almost litterally.
For those of you who haven't seen it, basically Pepperland, a land of beauty, harmony, and love is being destroyed by the evil Blue Meanies. Fred, a Pepperland inhabitant goes to find the legendary Lonely Heart's Club Band who alone can defeat the Meanies. Well, he finds The Beatles and enlists their help to save Pepperland. In the end the Meanies aren't what you would call "defeated" they are instead enchanted by the music of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band and everyone learns to get along and love one another.
That is exactly what we need to be teaching kids, and ourselves. That love is so much better than war. That by simply opening our eyes and trying to love people who are different instead of disliking them automatically.
all you need is a little Love to understand the world. Yes, there are bad people and we won't protect our country and freedoms by hugging, but learning to love would certainly stop a good portion of the mindless violence in our streets and our schools. From there we can accomplish even more. Think about it.
All together now.

But with "survival of the fittest" at work, we just can't help not competing with each other--which sometimes results in murders, genocides, and other things. It's no joke.
