The city i live in is divided today (election day) between those who want to save one of our three parks from being built on; and those who want a shopping center to be built on an amount of the parks land. This park is called Hafer Park which is why this is the title of my article. It is a very nice park close to my house, and it has beautiful qualities such as a duck pond, a small rock climbing wall, and many playgrounds for kids. I am so frustraited that our city deems it neccesary to build another shopping center when we already have tons of them. Why should we take land from one of our nicest parks and turn it into cement? Besides that we only have three parks in the whole city. The builder claims that if this is passed the revenue will greatly benefit the city, but i think that a calming place where people can escape the city atmosphere will benefit us more. Sometimes i dont understand people. If you agree or disagree with this let me know.
