Dorming Next Year? Take This!

Tagged:  •    •

Personally, as an out-of-state student, I'm getting my dorm packing list all checked and filled out. A few friends of mine have approached me and asked what I'm packing and what I reccomend packing. Honestly, I found this printable list to be the most helpful thing when boxing all of my items up. Of course, there are things you purchase when you get to wherever it is that you are going, but for the most aprt, this list is amazing and fulfills your every need. Before I started packing, I did not even think to bring most of these things, however, I soon realized how much I would be needing a lot of things on this list. Hope this list is as helpful to everyone as it was to me, and remember, do not give your hard-earned cash to WalMart, shop elsewhere! :)

for the past 2 years i've been going to a summer enrichment program where i stayed 6 wks @ rutgers in the dorms with a roomate. it resembled college life alot. but i after the 1st week there i found myself having to buy ALOT of things on the weekend or having to bring things from home that i forgot. it's the littlest things sometimes that you dont think you need until your in a predicament where you really need that item.

For the microwave and fridge especially... check with your roommates. If you all brought microwaves, it reduces space, and can get to be a hassle. Fridges are less so, but still... it might get to be a hassle.

As for phones... my college provides them, so you might want to check. A clip on desk lamp (nice quality one, that uses real lightbulbs) will also come in handy.

21 pairs of underwear? :)

Thanks for the list. It's going to be so hard to pack for this coming fall, my first full-time dorm experience. The list helped a lot.

...I just wish that I could take my cat with me...:(

The most severely underestimated item is the beach towel. This in combination with the frisbee will make your warmer days alot nicer.
