a small petition of love words
written about pain, suffered by a little girl
the story begins, she is standing by herself, alone
she dreams of tidal waves
dolphins carrying her away, in the white bubble tides
standing and looking down on her reflection
shining up by the crashing waves
water slaps green by the rocks
offering a little serenity
but love words can not escape
she winces as she peel off her ragged clothes
one by one, slowly
leaving the bruised and scared skin exposed
fresh red marks streak up and down her broken body
the salt air seeps through the wounds and found her heart
as she puts it under reconstruction
using the pink quill to carve the love words
like a petition on her heart
leaving red marks like the scars on her skin
peeling and sewn up by the clear salt water
a crow cry, leaving the life tower
support lost, fear returned
the girl screamed
footsteps behind her
approaching, fast, faster
dragging her by her arms like a ragged doll
back to the dungeon in the center of hell
she dreamed of tidal waves
"help me", she carved on her heart

the little girl seems utterly helpless. but i guess you can always be vulnerable when your in pain. I really like the immense emotion. The ocean and what surrounds it sets the mood. It is so sad though that she is trapped after being hurt physically and emotionally. Reading this poem and thinking of what a child that has has gone thru the abuse might feel, it seems that the dungeon is either the home or the love the little girl feels for her parents calling her back. Its like she can't go anywhere else.
