Is America destined to fall?

For all intents and purposes, the United States of America is an empire. Like it or not, you can't very well deny that.

What is amazing is that we have become an empire in such a short time compared to empires before us. China, the Babylonians, the Egyptians, even the Romans and others - all were mighty empires at one point in time. We read their history and we are pretty quick to point out where they failed and how they fell.

But, can we take that hind-sight vision and use it on ourselves? Can we save ourselves from falling and failure, or will it happen anyway no matter what we do?

Did history dictate that all empires fall? Or was it truly just through a series of mistakes that people seem to think we can avoid?

You can't keep growing, expanding. The best we can hope for is that we don't entirely collapse. All empires fall, you just can't be on top forever. In the next twenty or thirty years America will be surpassed by some country.

Our economy has been growing like mad and our military is stretched thin. A lot of people are disatisfied. Our faerie bubble is gonna burst soon and we will be walking among men again. don't forget, America wasn't anything before WWII; Canada was more important than us.

I do agree that we've seen plenty of empires come and go, I think that it is in people's nature to keep reaching for the top- keep going for the gold- keep wanting more! In reguards to an empire, I feel that the reason they do fall is they don't know when to stop when they are a head!!
