Everyone is freaking out about the immigrant issue. This has happened before in the US. And you know what? It seemed to work itself out then, and it will now.
In the early 1800's many Irish began entering the US. They were coming to a land of opportunity, or so they thought. The Anglo-Saxon citizen did not accept the Irish at all. They came here and worked the dingy jobs that no one else desired, and they worked for less money. Soon shops began putting up sings No Irish Need Apply. The Irish were considered to be just as "evil" as the African America. Well the Irish realized the only way they were going to better their situation was through education and hard work. In prominent cities like New York Irish soon became very influential.

Another instance of an uprising in the United States was when the African American were freed after the Civil War. Now what were they suppose to do? Many of them moved North to get jobs in the city, dangerous jobs that no one wanted. These jobs often paid less than the average job. The African Americans that did not move North became tenant farmers for their former masters. All of these African Americans were harassed and prosecuted. Booker T Washington decided that the only way they would better their situation was through hard work and education.

There are many more instances of this, these are just a few. This is nothing new for the United States, and people know that things will work themselves out.

And really, what are the immigrants hurting? Sure, they "take jobs." But they take the jobs no one else wants. And really, would we be the fabulous multi-cultural super-society of the world we claim to be if it weren't for immigrants?

It's the welfare and freebies that they are getting. They are comming illiagally and not paying taxes. The irish (of which i am prouldly decended) stood in long lines for days to be registered. They went through health checks. They became citizans. They didn't hurt the working americans who where already here. And the "Irish need not apply" didn't start untill run-away and freed slaves came north and worked for less than the Irish at the same jobs. There are plenty of workers who come over as immigrants or on work visas and the illigals are costing them jobs and the economy money. And they make no effort to learn English! I'm going into health care and I have to learn Spanish. If they want to live in America, they have to follow American laws, including how to be come a citizian.
