Ah, a no-brainer you think. It's a conservative, obviously the answer is that they hate the thought, gay marriage is a sin.
WRONG
I am sorry to dissappoint the stereotypes, but I must say that I believe that gay marriage should be legalized. Why you ask, the need to point out the political affiliation? Simple. I have joined the cause to fight stereotypes.
I don't think its fair that republicans are labeled as devout Christians, gay haters, and pedophiles (a few cases with some senators cough..cough..). These are stereotypes that are not only wrong but demeaning. With liberals you immediately think of hippies and lava lamps. (You know you do) But this is wrong as well. Think of all those other familiar stereotypes. There are lots!
Back to my original point gay marriage. I think that if two people love each other enough, than it should be ok for them to get married. I am sure there can be just as strong physical/emotional connections for gay pairs as well as straight pairs.
So this is my fight to beat all sterotypes, once and for all. Post a sterotype below that YOU think should be defeated, and together we can beat this!!

personally i am opposed to the republican party due to their overall stances on economic factors, gay marriage, and a few other things like the death penalty and others.
i respect your will to go against the grain, but i dont agree with voting for someone you dont agree with simply to prove a point.
vote green party or something if you want to make a statement.
but i agree that you cant stereo-type someone simply based on their party. personally i am an anti abortion catholic democrat. but im for everything else the democratic party stands for.
I agree with a lot that the Republican party stands for, way more than the Democratic. I also find them to be what's best for the country in my opinion. But I am not a clone of the Republican party. I am an individual, and should not be sterotyped. That is the point I was trying to get across.
Thank you for the comment.
well then in that case i love the post and the point. i just wasnt sure if thats what you were getting at or if you were one of those people who joins a party just to prove that everyone doesnt fit a stereo type.. you never know those people sneek on here sometimes
i really appreciated this post, because i've been saying for the longest time that the republican party should reconnect with its roots. it's overshadowed and tainted by the bigotry of certain others, but what the party really stands for is life and small government, which is why i try not to limit myself to parties.
and liberty. it also stood for liberty, like when they freed the slaves under lincoln. that was pretty cool.
Great post. I think people's political views don't have to fit into one of two molds-- the world isn't a dichotomy. I think our political system is hard on individuals, because I think very few people agree with everything one party says 100%, and they have no choice but to have people assume their beliefs incorrectly.
and helping me defy gravity, girl. i do my best to not hate on republicans, because i realize that the republican party isn't all bad, just like the democratic party isn't all bad. everyone's out for power and money in the end. and not everyone has to conform to standards.
