The Rocket Summer has been one of my favorite bands for a very long time and just this past November I actually got a chance to see them live. The lead singer, Bryce Avary, is simply amazing and I could probably go on and on about how talented he is. But it's not just because he can play the guitar, play the piano, create catchy melodies and songs, and write his own lyrics. It's the sincere message that is behind every single song -- whether it be a message about love, loss, or the world that we live in today.
Each song by The Rocket Summer is heartfelt and genuine, and for me strikes a personal chord in my life where I can easily relate to the lead singer. "Do You Feel" is a progressive song because it addresses how although we all wish for change and progress to be made in our society and world today, most of us feel we are just too busy with our own personal lives. Feeling like we're too busy or feeling like we're not responsible for the world that we lives in ultimately makes us indifferent and apathetic. This song challenges us to recognize this fact and to do something about it. I hope it will inspire you just as much as it has inspired me.
