The Book of Shame

I'm sure you've all heard about O.J. Simpson's up-coming book, "If I Did It."  The book was to tell how Simpson would have killed ex-wife, Nicole Brown, if he had killed her.  Hmm... Many wondered why he would even consider putting out such a book and what he could have possibly been thinking.  With all of the negative media, not only the book, but also an interview with Simpson about the book, have been scrapped.  Although it seemed as if this would be the end of the matter, now publisher Judith Regan, whose book it was, has been fired from HarperCollins publishing company.  HarperCollins is a divison of the bigger Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.  Murdoch News Corp. claims that Regan was fired because she made anti-Semitic comments to a Jewish attorney of HarperCollins.  Regan now has her attorney speaking for her and the two have every intention of suing the company.  Now, isn't it weird that all of a sudden this lady is fired?  The attorney claims that this has never been an issue, and that she is not a racist, yet she gets fired practically on the spot.  Isn't it even more strange that this canning follows the embarrassment brought to the company on account of her O.J. Simpson book?  Hopefully, this isn't just the company's way of getting rid of her and they are truly being honest.  It wouldn't be fair to blame her for their shame.  After all, it wasn't until the negative media that they chose to scrap the book.
