Have you ever found something that should be entirely offensive yet you can’t help but be entirely amused? Borat, for example, I’ve heard should simply offend every single person who watches, yet many have found it to be one of the funniest movies in a while.
My current should-be-bad is Tucker Max. Drunk. Womanizer. General Asshole.
As he says himself:
“I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead.”
As a female who never drinks and generally acts within the normal restraints of social interaction and propriety, I should hate this. I should hate that a man exists who plows through women like no big deal and essentially encourages others to. A man who probably received millions of dollars by publishing a book (I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell) of his encounters including stories of absinthe, blowjobs, roadtrips, midgets, and more.
One thing that makes him so wholly appealing is that the guy is brilliant. He graduated from Duke Law and it is my understanding he is one of the leading prosecueting attorneys in the nation. His writing style amazes me. No matter how vile his actions, I couldn’t help laughing hysterically and almost revering the man in a sick kind of way. I’d read his book again hands down and I follow the stories on his story. Again, I am a 17 year old Catholic girl who doesn’t drink or and has never even gone past making out. And I adore this guy.
So I’d advise everyone to check out some of his stories on his website. Sadly, I don’t think the “Tucker Max Scale of Drunk” and his system for rating women are available on the website nor are some of the prime Tucker Max stories – only in the book. But wow, some on the site are just brilliant. I’d recommend “The Famous ‘Sushi Pants’ Story”, “The Now Infamous Tucker Max Charity Auction Debacle”, and finally (perhaps the best but also probably one of the most disturbingly graphic – all the funnier) “Tucker Max Tries Buttsex; Hilarity Does Not Ensue.”
