Another excelent adventure in that mysterious backwater universe of Interland has lead me to another amazing site, supported by Legion of loving fans.
www.godhatesfags.com is perhaps the funniest sight on the internet. If you have not been to this site I advise you to go immediatly. There you will find such hilariaties as a counter showing how many days Matthew Shepard has been in hell. A advise/question answering section very simular to Dear Abby, only far more hostile. Oh, don't miss the section telling every good member when and were the next protest of soilders funerals is.
The funniest part, by far, is that the people who run this site, actually believe everything that is there. They actually believe there is a God, who is punishing homosexuals for eternity and that they are only trying to save these poor homosexuals from their deplorable fate. It is amazing these people and what they will believe.
The Westboro Baptist Church seems to have specifically designed their website to offend every single person who is able to read English.
Many of you, after reading this (if many of you acutally read this) my wonder why I find this so funny. How can I find humor in such a horribly intolerant website. The first answer, is "Tolerance." My second answer is, it's just a website. What isn't funny is the groups non-internet action. The protest of the funerals of American Soilders is, by far one of the worst ideas that I have ever heard in a long time (Though all time favorite is "Hey lets cut part of this kids penis off and call it circumsison.").Â

It's not really funny. I find things like this to be extremely sad.

Have you gone to the website?
Things like what? The family of people that are so stark raving mad (or so far down the extremest path) that they insist that God is going to wipe America off the face of the earth because of the homosexuals? Or the fact that this person finds their behavior hilarious?
-- quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
The first part is sad, and funny. The second part doesn't seem that much funny ... I personally never really laughed at the fact that other people where laughing at something.
That people honestly believe their God preached such a hateful message and gave them the right to condemn anyone marginally different then themselves.

It's funny it a sad, disgusting sort of way.
"Every man makes a god of his own desire."

It's funny because I pity them. They live in a very scary world where one wrong move lands you in hell. I hope that when they die, that that really is all that happens. They die and .... oh wait, there is not god, no heaven, no hell. So I guess they would never find out, but what a waste.
Live your whole life scared and preaching and condemning and then just die. Now that's irony!
Okay so the pity and irony, that's why it's funny.
"Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule."
That website is so extreme it almost seems fake, like an attempt to make fun of people who are that extreme. It's very scary that it's not.
The Westboro Baptist Church also has a site that has tons of video of them talking, doing newscasts and even music videos: www.signmovies.net
