Is the U.S health care system really the best in the world? According to a recent study done by World Health Organization, the United States ranked 37th for best health care. The United States were also ranked in first place for health expenditure per capita. If Americans are paying more for medical bills than anywhere else in the World they would expect the best quality of care, but it seems like that is not the case. It is time for a change.
Every year pharmacuticle companies make billions in profits, so why is it that the average middle class American is paying for health care that they can simply not afford? Many people are afraid to change the health care system in fear of poorer quality. If we are already ranked 37th in the World for quality of care and are paying more than any other country for medical expenses why fear change? Too many people are becoming brainwashed when it comes to the United States. We tend to beleive that America is perfect when in fact we have many problems that tend to be ignored. It is time for a reformation. Since when did health become a business?

The problem with America is that everything is a business. Businesses will not hesitate to find a way to make money. In addition, Social Security and Medicare will become a huge problem for the U.S. in the future. The U.S. also has very large deficit. In addition, as seen by Greenspan's comments about two weeks ago, the markets are very shaky. But back to the point, America has become an opportunistic country -- meaning people find any and every opportunity to make a quick buck. It a shame, but it is true. The only time when I see Americans care about other Americans without looking for something in return is when a disaster or tragedy takes place. Medical cost are too high. Thanks for the statistics and the topic. I read a lot of thing I did not know about.
