Short and sweet cause I am worn out and just a little under the weather. Not real sure how this works, I picked personal freedom. In this day and age, blogging is a great expression of personal freedom. I saw another progressive principle called shared responsibility. That's cool. But let's try this. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! Just think what it would be like if everyone exercised personal responsibility. The folks sentenced to community service would be bored because there would be not trash alongside the road to pick up. (everyone decided to wait till they found a trash can) Oh, wait, there wouldn't be community service because people would be responsible instead of going around doing really stupid stuff to get into trouble. My personal favorite example of that is my high school classmates who got community service for firebombing the guard shack at the high school. You might be saying, wow, a high school with a guard shack, they have bigger problems. But just think, with personal responsibility, a guard shack would not be necessary.
Obviously, a dash of personal responsibility will not be the answer that creates a Utopian society, where we'll all wear wreaths on our heads and togas.....but hey, it might make for better neighbors!
community service is not always used as a punishment. many organizations, like the Boy Scouts, NHS, and Student Council all pckup the trah tohelp them learn to serve others when they need help. I do however agree. people need to be way more responsible. like you said, who know what could happen.
So, blending two principles got you here? Well done. I award your creativity. I like the whole subject. a very entertaining read.
