I have set some time aside to realise who actually represents America? Sure the president does, and the politicians but not really. Of course they enforce laws, come up with brilliant... *cough* ideas but I have decided to look closer into this picture.
The people who represent America are our troops. I don't see the president who declared war fighting? do you? Our troops and our citizens represent America, and the numbers over power the president and politicians. We make up America. Looking closer through the plastic politicians and president are the people who will die for their country.
More importantly the backbone of our country is not the government, but the soldiers. If some government officials or even the president had to fight in the war they would be shocked and probably try to come up with some new bill to get out of it. Soldiers are protecting us and doing the things they were told to do. When the people who give out these orders can not deliver it themselves.
I watched a video that really moved me. It moved me so much that I wanted to share it with all of you. I do not know anyone serving, but the video still brought tears to my eyes. it made me realise our backbone may appear as though it is the government, but it is infact our troops. The song is a country song..and I would love to add that I hate country music but the song does justice for the video. It is quite a good song as well.
Remember who really represents America. Our troops are our backbone, and as Americans we make america what it is. Everything is not as it appears.

hah. I read the title and thought you meant like representing in the diplomatic sense. I was going to say all those Americans going overseas (like us military brats who lived in someone else's homeland for a few years).
We got a nice big lecture before we moved letting us know we were representing our country while living over there, so don't do anything stupid. ;-)

That's a lot of pressure!
It IS true, though. Our troops are out there with the US Flag on their arm for all the world to see. It's their actions and reactions that show the countries where they are stationed what it is to be an American.
Yes . I do believe what you are saying. But what is really messed up is that Mc Cain and Bush plan to keep the soldiers over there in Iraq for maybe 50 or 100 more years. Are you serious. God I hope Mc Cain doesn't win. Sorry if I offended anyone.
