♥Three years ago, I moved to California. Actually to a place called Yucca Valley, which as most people know is next to the Joshua Tree National Park. This park is one of the best in this side of the United States. This park offers a program for us, high school students that is. It is called the United States Youth Conservation Corps. or YCC for short.

This is my second year in this program, and yes you do get paid. IF your into nature and need a job for summer this is perfect. You can see what your park has to offer in all its miracles. In the beginning it was hard to get used to, however, when you finish what you were working on and realize that this will be there for ten or more years for other people, you feel sooo amazing. Its a good way to do good things for the enviorment. Ok, the uniforms arent so fun in the desert but hey you can walk through cats claw without them tearing you up to pieces. The co-workers are other high school students so its a good way to make friends as well.

People when they see you working are so appreciative to you, and honest. It overwelmes you. So check that out!♥

What does the YCC do? I've heard it mentioned before, but haven't really ever heard much about what the organization does.

the youth conservation corps. are a youth trail crew however only offered in federal national parks. We work during the summer and do trail work or maintence around the park. We canout in new signs, or make new trails, or repair them. Most of the programs we go camping and work at other national parks and do projects that need more people involved. I personally just got back from a camping trip. Good times.
