The Answer

Long ago in a dusty village,
Full of hunger, pain and strife,
A man came forth with a vision of truth,
And the way to a better life,
He was convinced he had the answer,
And he compelled people to follow along,
But the hunger never vanished,
And the man was banished,
And the village dried up and died,

At a time when wise men peered,
Through brass tubes toward the sky,
The heavens changed in predictable ways,
And one man was able to find,
That he had thought he found the answer,
And he was quick to write his revelation,
But as they were scrutinized
In his colleagues eyes,
He soon became a mockery,

Dont tell me about the answer,
cause then another one will come along soon,
I dont believe you have the answer,
Ive got ideas too,
But if youve got enough naivite,
And youve got conviction,
Then the answer is perfect for you

An urban sprawl sits choking on its discharge,
Overwhelmed by industry,
Inclined toward charity,
Everyones begging for an answer,
Without regard validity,
The searching never ends,
It goes on and on and on for eternity

Lyrics by Bad Religion

How i'm feeling at the moment.  It seems like everyone has got the answer for me and I should pay attention or "burn in hell."  Unfortanatley not everyone fits the normal outlook of life and not everyone wants to commit to one answer.  What ever became of people working things out on their own?  When did that become such a problem?

The whole idea that your answer is right and mine is wrong, when speaking purely philosophically, is slightly ridiculous.  There are certain things I don't like about religion but that doesn't mean I hate you for believe in them.

Mainly my point is that we should all work out ideas and beliefs by ourselves.  No outside influences.  No churches.  No temples.  No parents forcing one religion over another.  Let people make up their own minds.  100% from the start.

Have a nice Day

You know, I just wrote a blog (which I'd intended to offend this new Wave of Christians that seem to be Bible pushing) and I found that I got 5 comments of praise. I was really hoping to get some hate mail, or at least an "Oh Dear Jesus, you must be saved." It's a lot harder to get than one would think.

But I agree with your point, especially the "we should all work out ideas and beliefs by ourselves" one. I think it makes for a happier lifestyle.

i agree, people should form their own thoughts by themeslves, without outside influences.
i think it makes a person more individualistic, but do you really think it's possible??
i wish it were, but with everything wrong that happens, how could it be.
aprents always want to direct their children in the right path and schools always want to teach students "what they need to know"
i think if it were capable of people to develop their own thoughts/opinions on their own, my sister and i wouldn't be the twiniest twins because no one would have dressed us up the same when we were little and all the other stuff that comes with being a twin wouldn't have influenced our lives as much. it sucks
