Racist or Color Blind?

Trading Spouses. For some who are not aware of the televised show, it is a show where two family agree to trade a spouse from each family. Tonight's show consisted two totally different family that both see different in today's society.

For one family, the mother is a devoted, Caucasian Christian and refers to herself as a "Christian Warrior" and for the other family, their mother, an African American woman, is still lingering on the issue of enslavement of her ancestral heritage. We all have different opinions on these contreversal topics. The husband of the African American wife said that he is not racist or prejudice, and if so, he is "prejudice FOR black people."

There are many prejudice people. There are people who are prejudice who know it, people who deny it, and people who are but just don't know it yet. I admit that I have my prejudice moments and if asked any stereotype questions I will reply with an honest answer which will in turn, become prejudice. So, is it possible to be both or can you only be one? Can a person live only seeing black and white? There are still racist actions going on around the globe but when you look back and compare it to what used to be... we've actually done a little improvement and have had the decency of ending discriminating actions and behaviors.

I just want to state that black people are not the only one suffering. When you are living in a world where you only seeing black-and-white, you are wrong. There are many different kinds of people around the world suffering. People living in poverty in Mexico, Haiti, Thailand, Africa... even in America. On the streets, for instance, there are not only black bums standing on the corners of intersections and under highways but whites as well.. there are successful black and white people everywhere and of all other races. When you see black and white, you only see what you want and although you state that you are referring to what is reality -- IT IS NOT.

Haha yeah, I love that episode. The fact that he said he's "prejudice for black people" made me go "huh?". And you are correct a lot of things have improved, but we still have a ways to go. Also, I think you bring up a good point about it not just being a black and white thing, there is so much more going on and so many people are like 200 years behind (i mean in progress) but, at least in America, we just ignore most of it.
