Miles Levin

Miles Levin was a brave character who knew how to bring out the best of everyone. Although often memories fade away into a sort of oblivion, I refuse to let his memory die, and so does Cranbrook. Cranbrook school hosted a "Walk for Miles" last friday, on the same day as "Day of Silence". While his peers were waiting for their college letters and acceptances to come, he knew that he probably wouldn't have those oppurtunities but he remainded positive. By the end Miles just wanted to live through graduation, which he did. The day came when he graduated from cranbrook, but he died the next august. He never had the opportunity to go to college and experience the little things we take for granted. I was never extremely tight with him, but I did see him around alot. It was hard not to notice him the day he came back to school with cameras following his every motion in the lunch room. Why was it such a big deal? Because he was here to show us that all we can do is live each day to the fullest, and stop feeling sorry for yourselves. Although I can't recall the exact quote, Miles once said "life is like a bucket of golf balls. You start shooting like there's not a bottom to the bucket, and then as your balls become fewer and fewer, you take shots with more precision."
