If you have to go, you have to go.

Have you ever wondered about those teachers who don't let their students go to the restroom during class? Well to me this just seems wrong. I remember when I was in ninth grade my math teacher told us a story about when he was in high school. Apparently his teacher told him that he couldn't use the restroom so he stood up next to his seat and intentionally wet his pants. He wanted to make a statement to his teacher to get his point across. But is this really what it takes to show some teachers that you really can't stop a student from going to the restroom.

One reason for this is that the teacher might not trust the student to be out in the halls alone. Another reason is that the teacher may not want the student to miss any of the lecture or class work. But either way you can't stop a natural process. If you have to go, you have to go and that's all there is to it.

Some teachers give students a bathroom pass at the begining of each semester and if they don't use it they can get extra credit points. While this is better than not letting the students use the bathroom at all it still isn't a good solution. This makes the students not want to go to the bathroom because they want the extra points, and that isn't heathy for the bladder.

Teachers should always allow students to use the restroom if they need to. The students should be kept on the honor system so they feel like they are trusted. Remember, if you have to go, you have to go.

Haha. Well for one, I think it is stupid when I come across teachers like that .. I've had subs, and yes even teachers that would say "no" to the "may I use the restroom" question .. Sure it may be because they can't trust that student going in the halls alone, but it would be the student getting in trouble for not returning back to class. Not to mention, it would be childish to not let a, ohhh lets say a Highschool student not use the restroom because I mean, are you kidding? Its' almost like asking a teacher if your aloud to breath, it is a natural habbit. Same with passes .. I need a pass in order to do my natural habbits? .. other wise I have to get a bladder infection if I don't have a pass on me. ALRIGHT, BLADDER INFECTIONS AREN'T THAT BAD! :-) I mean, I can see if like .. the teacher is talking and wants the student to wait until they are finish talking to the class, then its fine, but when they just don't let the kid go pee for no damn freakin' reason, then I'd say the teacher is probably enjoying the sight of seeing you in pain. :-)

.. and what is up with, when you say to the teacher..
" Can I go to the bathroom?"
.. and then the teacher says..
" I don't know, can you go to the bathroom??"
.. and then you have to stand there and waste more of your time, and be like uh whaaa? and think for a sec and then be like "ooooh" and then say..
" MAY I GO to the bathroom" .. and then think in your head, jee bitch same thing, different wording.
.. and then the teacher just smiles afterwards. assholes.

One time when I was in 8th grade I did get a bladder infection because I wanted that darn extra credit. Then I missed school, because otherwise I would've barely been in class but rather in the gross restrooms at a middle school. I hate when teachers have NO reason though. Even my senior year in high school I had teachers that wouldn't let me. Sometimes I had teachers that just let us leave our senior year, because in college you don't ask, and when we had subs they would say no. I believe subs should have the same rules as the teacher does. Anyways, I really agree. If you have to go, you have to go.

I put an end to that at our school. In sixth grade, my teacher told me I couldn't go to the bathroom, and in my loudest voice I informed her that I was about to bleed all over the place, then class would have to be released due to biological fluids being present. She let me go, and a week later the no bathroom restriction was removed.

I also got a no purses in class rule shut down by bringing the biggest maxi pad I could find to class with me and sitting it on my desk. The teacher told me to put it up, and I informed her that I wasn't allowed to carry a purse but didn't want to bleed all over the place.

Throw in a little embarassing female physiology next time. You'll never have bladder pains again.
