Cogito Ergo Sum and the Casper Effect

We all know the basis of thinking for the timeless classic "I think therefore I am" line of thought, which is of course that you cannot be mistaken because mistaken is a property and thus requires an essence so that essence must exist. but what I'd like to take further is what do we think about? and I have durived my own theory called "the casper effect" named after the movie casper the friendly ghost, where in the movie Ghosts are defined as "People who just have unfinished business" so where does this tie in?

what do we think about? we think about what we want to think about and we always want things because there is an inequality of the way the universe is and the way we would have it be.

so here is how it breaks down

Reality --------------------Desire
......................./\...........................
.......................|............................
...............Existence..................

that is why we exist for an eternal interval of time is because how big is the universe? its infinitely big so there is an infinite amount of space to desire it being so thus no matter how much we align matter in the way the suits us there will always be more to arranged.

so thats existence for you, its the difference equation between how you would like the way things to be and the way they are.

I was lost at "we think about what we want to think about and we always want things".
So what if I don't want things? I'm really content- I'm happy with whatever, even if that happens to be nothing. I just don't see any of the connections you're trying to make.
