FORUMS! I know on the scholarship front we don't get points there, but it's important! There are all these forums set up for people to debate in about the supposed "hot topics" of the next election yet they are being totally ignored! While I love participating in blogging what is on my mind and I love reading what is on the mind of others, I really want to see more activity in the world of debating. I guess I am being biased because I ASSUMED within 2 days of posting an opinion under healthcare, someone might have something to say about it. The only way to really brainstorm and solve problems is to participate.
While the comments under some of the blogs get into the opinionated realm, I think debating these issues is drastically important. Maybe to help shed some light on other sides of a problem. Maybe to open my eyes, your eyes to a different perspective. Maybe a grand idea will come out of a general conversation about what can be done. I know debate is not change. People sit around with opinions all the time and do nothing, but maybe, just maybe, one of these topics could lead to someone stepping forth and trying to institute change.
I guess what I am asking/wondering...with all the opinions, why won't anyone open themselves up for a true debate. We complain about the candidates waffling. We have no one to impress here. We can voice whatever side we want! We can say things without fear of ramification, yet very few do. This is the definition of a lazy society. Perfectly happy to sit around on their soapbox and talk and talk and talk, but when it comes to actual action, actual discussion of fixing/changing things, that just takes too much effort. Let's all step up!!!!

You are passionate about debate. For that, I shall visit the forums. It's been a while since I've been there.
I think a lot of the newbies are still unaware of the forums (despite constant reminders from admin/mods) or just don't see the appeal because there are no points gained there. I see a similar bit of inactivity over at the Creative Writing site.

Comments are always appreciated!
I see the same thing yet I have no idea and finally figured out how to get to them. Like bridge said people want points. They don't want to waste time not getting points because some people are greedy. Posting a million blogs back to back is also rather annoying.
