Not fair

Living off-campus is so expensive. I go to a school where on-campus housing is really limited. there are a lot more students than campus housing available. Because of this they are going to start building more dorms starting next year. So the construction probably would not be done until 2010 or 2011, far past the time when I graduate. Especially in the city, the apartments are so expensive and not worth it. This year to fairly distinguish who get campus housing and who doesn't, our school decided to have a lottery. About 300-400 groups signed up to do the lottery for only 80 spots, which is complete bs. We pay a lot of money to come here, around 40,000 a year, so I think there should be some other way to determine who should and should not get university housing. Maybe they could do it by average Grade Point Average or how early you register for a lottery number. Its just a one and done, there is no way to dispute our lottery system or anything like that. People who sign up first should get first priority, instead of just having a random lottery to dictate where you live. I know I signed up 10 minutes after it officially opened and other people who probably got a good lottery number signed up for it a few days later. Now I have to worry about going around, looking for places to live. Honestly, why is life so unfair
