Here is something else that I have been thinking about lately: society over corrects itself. Have you ever thought about that before? For example, take the Femininst movement. It started out with women not being able to vote or participate in politics. We we expected to stay home and have children; working was a man’s job. But then women like Elizabeth Cady Stanton stepped in, with the support of many other women across the country, and she changed the way that women are viewed. Today, girls all across the country are told by their parents, “You can do it” and “You can be whatever you want to be.” And look at the current enrollment in colleges and high schools. Females make up more than 50 percent of students, and this number is increasing. And when I look at most of the Honors and AP classes in my school, at least two-thirds of the students in them are females.
I think this over-correcting thing happened with racism, too; for years, African Americans were oppressed, but they created change as well. I think hostility towards African Americans has greatly decreased. Take, for example, all the support Obama is getting. Now, I see more racism coming from blacks towards whites. I have met people who have just assumed that you are racist. But we will never overcome racism if people expect it.
It’s just something to think about.

It's definitely something to think about. However I don't exactly see your point with the feminist argument--I don't think we over corrected in that situation. But I may be biased since I am female. Haha. But the reason why I don't think so is because as women we aren't demanding that we hold positions over men. There isn't priority for girls over boys to get into AP classes or, in most cases, in college! It's just something that the females of today feel more passionate about then the males, in my opinion. They're still able to work hard and achieve positions of power just as much as women are.
However in support of your argument there are things that the government has done that can be considered over correction such as Prohibition.
Just something to think about! :)

I see what you mean about the first thing. Right now, college students are about 54% females...but I think in the future it might get to 60, or 65, or even 70 percent female...and then men would do what the women did a hundred years. or, maybe that will never happen. I don't know.
