-Blogging is a relatively new phenomenum that has had international sucess. "Bloggers", a new slang term for those who blog, show their ideas, days, poety, stories, almost anything they can think of they will blog about. Why do we do this? Never before in history has such s large population of the world put their written thought out for the public to see. Is this because it is a passing trend that will soon die out like la macarena or is the reason deeper? English philosopher Hobbes, the author of the leviathen, says that man is not a social creature but merely a selfish creature. If this is true then why would someone post their blogs so that a large population could see and comment on the blog? If man was truly selfish why would he look for a way to socialize and talk about the topic of his blog? Or is the mere act of Blogging a selfish ploy for attention as hobbes would argue? The topic is up for debate, and probably will set off a new series of blogs.

I think it is simply a new way to express who we are. It also helps express those who are afraid of face to face confrontations.
I never let my schooling interfere with my education. - Mark Twain
The answer is really simple. Before we did not have the technology to do this. People could write books or magazine articles but that is a lot more work than blogging. Its not because people have never wanted to share all this information it is because until now they have had no way to do so.
Blogging is new to me, but it seems a great way for people to connect. I live in Indiana, but through a blog I could share ideas with someone half way around the world. I live in a small town and this is a great way for me to "meet" other people.
