So, in an attempt to establish myself, I will relate to you a little story. Perhaps, you, my wonderful Internet-reader, will glean something from my anecdote. If not, well, your loss.
Around this time last year, I was enrolled in an AP United States History class. My teacher, Mr. Hjersjo, was ranting about income taxes. In all honesty, I don’t particularly remember what he was talking about, but he is an excitable man, and income taxes excited him.
After about an hour of this, Mr. Hjersjo stops ranting.
The moment that he does stop, a female student, named Lauren Oas, raises her hand and asks, “So…income taxes. Is that a government thing?”
No, Lauren. It's a toothfairy thing.
People do not cease to amaze me.

It's amazing how the perceptiveness of humans is steadily decreasing.
