Religion-Overated

So yeah in a previous blog of mine, I did the thing i hate most, brought religion in to a discussion, yes i know i'm such a hypocrite. Well i gets me thinking, doesn't religion just muddy things and make'em worse? You have a good discussion and you bring your religion into it, and especially if they don't have their same religion, the questions of well how do you know that? you can't prove it, and well yeah no one can really prove their religion and what happened, that where faith comes in. But like someone replied to my post pointed out, all different religions have their different beliefs about what's right what's wrong and all that moral stuff that goes with their religion. and it really just complicates the world and where we live. Look with our differences with Iraq (yeah i know predictable topic, but hey it wouldn't be predictable if every one didn't use it right?) mainly religious differences. Many problems in the Middle East deal with religion. Wouldn't it just be easier if there was no religion at all. Yeah i believe in christianity, but let's just say i'm no church goer but i believe God made earth and in Heaven and Hell. I'm a loose christian, there ya go. Open-minded. and sometimes i wonder if religion went away most of our worldly problems would be gone. Most of the differences in our society wouldn't be here (like Cathi, i think, sort of touched on in her post). so yeah religion seems like a pain, but a neccesary pain. For some people religion is the only thing that gives them hope. A neccessary evil.

i'm totally gonna leave the fact that because you are a Christian, loose, but still, a Christian, and by that you believe that God made the world and you, you wouldn’t be here and neither would the world. How can you say that? Faith and religion give people the hope that they aren’t just walking through the day. It gives them the hope that they are here for a purpose. and in that they were meant to be here in this time. and that they are suppose to make a difference even if it’s in one person’s life.

Religion =/= Faith in God

Faith =/= God

Religion =/= God

I know people who believe in a God but they don't follow a certain religion. Religion is man made, no matter how you look at it. But as long as you're happy you could believe in flying cows and puppy dog tails for all I care. :)

Loose? How so? They have every right to question their faith and god if they so choose, and thats what I think he/she is doing.

The good and bad thing about religion is you can interpret it any way you see fit...which in a lot of cases is not a good thing. ._.
