So I have been online searching for scholarships and came across this nifty site that allows you to blog and possibly win money for the act of blogging. I'm still not sure what its all about, but I'm game.
To start with, I'll share some background information. I am not your traditional college student. I am 31 years old. I have two boys who are 13 and 10. I also have three stepkids who are 13, 14 and 18. My 18 year old stepdaughter is in college in Tennessee. I am currently attending college in Illinois. My husband is currently a graduate student. As you can tell, money for school is important to us because there are 7 of us total, and three of us are currently in college.
Not only am I a mom, stepmom and student, but I also work part time at a public library. I have been working in libraries off and on since I was 15. I started out as a page (book shelver) and worked my way up to a Clerk, and I am now currently an Associate Librarian. However, what I really want to do is become a children's or youth librarian, which is why I am in school.
The plan. My plan is to get my undergraduate in English and then move on to my masters in library science. I have a lot of library experience and have been doing it long enough to know that is what I want to do, I just need that piece of paper! So here I am, opening yet another blog, in hopes of winning some cash to help pay for this education that will hopefully help me to have the future I want.
