abortion... right or wrong

One of the three most controversial issues in our present day society is abortion. when someone has an abortion, are they murdering someone? is there certain circumstances in which it is OKAY to kill someone?
I do not think that abortion is alright. how could you kill a little baby. when someone sees their baby for the first time in the sonogram, how could they look at a beating heart at deny it life? Just because a baby isn't born yet doesnt mean it is not alive. In the uterus, babies can move and feel pain. if you are not ready to be a parent, you should not be having sex in the first place. if you are raped, why not give the baby to a family who can love and support it. just because a baby is unwanted doesnt mean it deserves to die. How would you feel if you came so close to dying before you were born. What if your mother was a pregnant teen. Wouldnt you be so thankful for her gift of life. And if you are pregnant with an unplanned baby, abortion is not the answer. Studies show that after aborting a baby, mothers feel a connection with their baby, and they go through a mourning period after the abortion. it is a physical and psycological weight on the Mothers end. would you want to put yourself through that?
According to Su Chin in JUNO, "babys have fingernails!" after Juno thought about that in the abortion clinic, she was faced with the noise of all of the fingernails tapping and scratching. if you are pregnant with an unwanted baby, have Juno be your role model, and stick through the pregnancy. then give the baby up if you are not capable of caring for it yourself.

I believe it is up to the mother. But really if people would take the proper precautions then they wouldn't have to worry about being in that situation. I believe also if you get pregnant that is how it goes. The baby could end up growing up to be a rocket scientist. Everything happens for a reason. I thought that part in juno is funny because babies don't have finger nails at that stage of pregnancy.

Problems:

You fail to acknowledge the impact that a full-term pregnancy has on a woman's body, mind, and self. Full-term pregnancy and birth is much more dangerous that havng an abortion.

Relinquishing a child for adoption has at least the same negative psychological impact on a woman as having an abortion, if not more. And not all women experience lasting psychological issues from having an abortion.

A fetus that is aborted (before the legal time limit) will never even get close to experiencing consciousness or being aware of its own existence. But children who relinquished for adoption or foster care experience life long psychological issues relating to their relinquishment. Fetuses with debilitating genetic diseases or disorders that are aborted never suffer from their diseases or experience a horribly low quality of life. Women or couples should be able to decide whether they want to bring those children into the world.

Those are the most pressing issues I have with your post and I really encourage you to read my post linked to below about a measure trying to legally define a fertilized egg as a person.

I believe that abortions are wrong. Because God states in the 10 commandments that: "thou shall not kill." Therefore, not only is it wrong but it is also a sin. And whether you believe in God or not, I believe it should be noticed as First Degree. To some, this may sound silly, but if you think about it throughly, it's not. Think about how that person got prengnet. They chose to lay down and they chose to have unpertected sex. Therefore, they should take care of THEIR responsibility. My cousin was 16 and because of the dicisions she's made she has to take care of her 2 1/2 year old baby girl. One of my best friends; before graduating this year, she chose to have unpertected sex and she too is taking on the responibility of a 3month old baby girl. And they dont regret a thing about havin there child.Go back to when your parents made you. Know what if your mother decided to abort you. YOU wouldn't be here,YOU wouldn't have made it to were you are now. YOU wouldn't have the precious child(ren) that you have (if you have them). Its all about life and giving life. If everyone in this world was to have an abortion when they get pregnet, then the people of today, that we love dearly, wouldn't even be in our lives. We wouldn't even be here. Life is a cycle, it's also Gods will, and it's up to us to keep the cycle going and follow his will. If God says it's not time for you to have a baby and you have a miscaraged, you would devistated. But yet when you get pregnet, you want to abort the child. I was 17(I am now 18) when i got pregnet and 2months into it,either God or my mother said"it's not time for you my child." And guess what....I had a miscarage. Til this day, the man of my unborn child thinks I killed the baby on purpose. Do you know how bad that hurts me inside. Usually on Mothers Day I just sit in my room, because my mother past away when I was at a young age. But this one was difficult, because I would of had a child, and my Mothers Day wouldn't have been a sad day for me anymore, but this one was even more sad. People dont see the blessings that God gives them. But I do, and I thank him.....If you are still thinking that aborting an unborn child is not wrong. Then must I say two wrongs dont make it right.

Giving birth to a baby you don't want and/or can't take care of is wrong.

...is irrelevant.

Because God states in the 10 commandments that: "thou shall not kill." Therefore, not only is it wrong but it is also a sin.

Ahem...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Here in the United States, the Constitution beats the bible every time.

I know that I could never get an abortion, but I don't think the government should tell someone no. I don't believe it is murder. In the early stages you are killing off a mass of cells about the size of the mass that comes off when you scratch your arm. Plus, I think that what a woman does with her body is her business. And I've said it on other , similar blogs, and I'll say it here. The main reason I believe in abortion is because in reality many parents don't think about giving up a baby for adoption so instead that child grows up unwanted. My mother neglected me and told me how much she wished she never had me, and so I think if that's how you're going to treat it then take care of the "problem" when it doesn't know rather than put it through a lifetime of pain and suffering.
