My eyes were still blurring from the impact the pillow had on them when my Resident assistant woke me up by lightly banging on my door. “Please take our survey to make dormitory life better for future residents.” She must have thought I was slow because I seriously did not process that fast enough to respond. I took the paper and sat down at my desk. Since there was no room next between the chemistry book and orange juice I had to balance it on my leg. The first question was simple,

Name:

Tama….good night.

After completing the survey days later, I thought about how fortunate I had become. You see boys, girls have secrets. Secret number one, they are messy. My roommate had also been taught to be considerate, respectful, and bath. But, from horror stories and smells I have witnessed down the hall suggested for some unfortunate soul, otherwise. Actually the big problem was taking out their trash. Yeah girls down the hall did not like to do that. They would fill up industrial size trash bags, and must have been immune to the smell. So that’s one thing you lucky “future residents” have to look forward to. Another is that yes, college students do mature (since they are on their own) but yet the high school pettiness doesn’t end. Sorry. My hall mates seriously got in a fight about their name tags on their door. So Lindsey* ripped down Bridget’s* name tag, and Bridget proceeded to color 50 of her own and place them all over her door. It ended with a “Please Grown Up <3 K Thanks” note on Bridget’s door. Aw college, such adults.

Your title made me think of two things...

The D-Bucket... where we have to pay if we say the 'D-word'
and
The name of three of our floors in our freshman residence halls... Monkeyridge :)
