Why do people insist on blabbing on their cell phones while driving? I got cut off today by some young girl that could barely see over the steering wheel of her huge SUV. Instantly road rage set in and I wanted to pull up beside her and threaten to cut her head off at the next light! lol "Just Kidding" But I did in fact pull up beside of her and there she was chatting away on her cell phone, no ear phone hooked up, she was also having a bit of lunch while driving and chatting away so the phone was rested between her ear and shoulder!!! What's wrong with these people? I think their should be a new law passed, we could call it DWC "Driving While Chatting!!!" When people get pulled over for this the cop should take the phone away and smash it on the side of the road! They pour out alcohol if they catch you drinking don't they? People should have to take a class on the dangers of Driving While Chatting and with each incident the punishment should be more severe just like drinking and driving. What do you all think?
Turn off that damn cell phone!!!

They're tryin to pass a law in my state where you HAVE to use are earpiece while driving. I agree because someone always cuts me off or almost kills me because they're chatting it up and driving.

Your right, actually in KY wear I live you are supposed to use a headphone or ear piece of some kind but most people still don't do it. Same with seat belts
Well I was gonna say the same thing the two peeps ahead of me have already stated.
SO instead I'll say this.
Cars are just dangerous. People however are getting used to them, we don't feel the danger anymore because we've been desensitized. While a law may be in the making, its just the natural evolution of out relationship witth the automative technology.
Perhaps they should pass a federal law where if you're chatting while driving, anyone is allowed to have road rage on you and not fear legal action. That would make me happy :) But then again...that would be hard to enforce, not to mention very unrealistic. I suppose we'll just have to settle with teaching people to be better drivers. *sigh*

Here in CT it's illegal to talk on your cell phone while driving. (You can still use a headset though). And nobody obeys the law, but the cops aren't really enforcing it. I see probably the same amount of people (maybe a tiny bit less) talking on their cell phones now than I did before the law existed. But it's so dangerous. The polce really need to start enforcing this law.
People should be conscious that they risk theis safety, first of all! It's so absurd to have to pass a law that people have to respect for their own good!
i think ive read somewhere that more accidents are caused by cell phones and driving than drunk driving. well if they make and enforce all these laws about drunk driving, why wouldnt they for something worse?!?!
Good points maybe we should pressure our government, we need to write a proposal and see where it goes.
In some cities and states it is illegal to drive while on cellphones. The people that do scare me. I know a female that died cause she dropped her cell phone and went to look for it while driving and her SUV fell over.
