Guns in schools

I know there is at least one other blog about this at the moment but this is addressing a semi-different issue with some of the same facts. Just bare with me please.

A school principle shot and killed two kittens on school grounds. To read more about it click on the link above. My question is why he even had the gun on school grounds. That's where the shooting occured. Did he have it in his car, did he carry it around or did he go home and get it? The article (that I can tell) doesn't say but this worrys me being a highschool student myself. The other thing that makes me angry is that those kittens didn't have to die just because their mom was gone. He could of taken them to the vet or animal hospital or shelter. Being the "mom" of a diabetic kitty, I value the lives of all cats (also being a cat lover. lol).

this guy is a moron, there are ways to care for kittens even newborns outside of the presence of their mother and what WAS he doing with a gun at school, people are just messed up!

Allright, so I'm definitely against, huge government looking over my shoulder, but I think guns on school grounds should be federally regulated and anyone with a gun should be charged with a federal crime. I just think that tragedies much greater than two kittens (not saying that isn't a tragedy, I have 3 cats of my own) could be averted by federal regulation. I say, supreme court, reverse your decision and use that commerce clause to get our schools regulated.

the principal showed a sense of personal responsability by controling the stray cat population. it's never nice to hear that something had to be "put down", but lets not forget that our tax dollars are paying for this kind of thing all the time. in this case, though, the animals did not have to suffer captivity before their death. what makes me angry is all the people out there who's irresponsability perpetuates the population of strays.
